Pra Baba's 82nd!

Just before the May long weekend I was lucky enough to be able to schedule some work in Calgary so that we could be there May 13th for Pra Baba's 82nd birthday. Everyone was over to the Tityk's home for dinner, and Rowan was able to spend a couple of days re-aquainting and playing with her older cousins. Jack and Makaila are getting so big, and they both love to wrestle with their Uncle Yani! Nice to see all of their grandchildren being enjoyed at the same time....here's to many more Pra Baba!

May Long Weekend

For the May long weekend we headed to Cranbrook for a family visit. Us, including Teak, Chad, Michelle, Kayden and their two dogs all invaded Mom and Kasper's house for the weekend, literally forcing them to take up new residence in the motorhome for a couple of days...don't know what we'll do in the wintertime! Anyways, given Spring had hit, Andrian requested time on our drive down to fish in the Crowsnest Pass for a bit, which we did. After having a picnic lunch, I introduced Rowan to the Frank Slide and to the river (where she watched from the bank as Tato fished). Andrian assures me he and Rowan will spend much quality time there fishing together...

Then on to Cranbrook for a weekend of visiting. The family shot that I am posting here is a picture of a picture....as part of Mom's redo for her 60th we went and had some family pictures taken of everyone, so being this is one of a few pics of all of is in it, I thought I would post it.

And finally a couple pics of Rowan and Kayden as they had discovered Nana's Sirius Sattelite radio and spent some quality time one morning pushing buttons and lights to see what happened. Scary to think this will likley be somewhat obsolete by the time they are old enough to care.....

Sitting on Stairs

So Rowan's latest activity to amuse herself is to find a ledge, any ledge, and try to sit on it. Then you get up, look at the ledge (or stair as it may be) and then attempt to sit on it again. For the last day or two, I have also come across Macapaca sitting on the stair....sometimes all by himself. This evening I caught her in action, taking Macapaca over to the stairs and very purposefully instructing him to sit on the stair (and don't move!) so she could sit beside him....was pretty funny to sit back and watch. This activity is also good for outdoors as well, as there are plenty of ledges to sit on by the deck and in front of the shed in the backyard!

Picnic!

On a nice, sunny Saturday the Fins invited us out for a picnic. They have a green space right across from their house, where we can lay out some blankets, let the dogs run, and all have a snack together. I can see this becoming a habit for the summer months to come!

Trip to the Park

One afternoon Tato took Rowan to check out the park by our house. He said that she wasn't a big fan of the swing, but the slide wasn't too bad....

Mother's Day

It was such a nice day for Mother's Day, that we decided to pack up a picnic (yes, a new favourite activity), head to the park by Cath's house and have ourselves an outing. We had a nice leisurely snack, a couple Mamosas and the kids had plenty of room to roam around and burn off their lunch. While I don't think Cath had the same luxury, the Tityks headed home afterwards and all went down for naps! Does it get any better than that?
